The Greenwood Lake Soccer Club was founded in 1976 as a major activity of the Greenwood Lake Gaelic Cultural Society. It continues to be sponsored by the society and is coordinated and supported by parents and friends in the Greenwood Lake community. The Soccer Club was founded as a youth service to the children of our community. At present, it provides a year round program to children between the ages of five (sometimes even younger) and sixteen years of age. It has provided an accessible and affordable youth activity for over 2,000 children over a period of twenty five years. The Greenwood Lake Soccer Club has always stressed the all important concepts of sportsmanship, skill development, teamwork and most importantly, “HAVING A GOOD TIME”. It also consciously seeks to enable ALL families in the community to participate by charging affordable registration fees, providing parent support contacts and stressing the importance of both ACADEMICS and ATHLETICS.
